Week 41 Wedding & Fun Run

Well I have gotten very behind on uploading my weekly photographic challenge photographs. I have been so busy with school photo projects and photo jobs that it has gotten pushed to the side. Hopefully I will have some time to catch up over winter break. Here is one section. This week I photographed a wedding. This was a special one for me because it was the first wedding where I was the primary photographer and it wasn't family or friends. I had a lot of fun and pulled through it alright. I have decided though that people management and posing is where I need to most improvement.

Also this week I photographed a Fun Run with my class. It was a lot of fun and I got to photograph a skunk that was nearby. To my dismay the police then came and shot the skunk because it was in the way of all the running kids.

Week 26 Sheep Sheering

This week lots of things happened one of which was that we sheered the sheep which is not especially hard since ours are so friendly. Lise is the master wool cutting artison. We also went swimming in Lake Superior. Then I drove for two days, it was supposed to take three days, to get to FGC(Friends General Conference).

Week 31 Swimming and Honey Bees :)

This week I had some fun. I went swimming in a big deep pool under a waterfall. O and I photographed it too. Which was difficult because it was evening and the best view of the fall was from the east. I would like to go back their in the morning if I can manage to get myself out of bed early enough. I did however like the way the sun backlight the cedar tree making it glow and if I blocked the sun with the tree trunk the glare went away. I also had the delightful experience of watching my parents jar up the almost five gallons of fresh honey our bees managed to make. We have tried having bees many times over many years but they always dies over our long cold winter. This time we worked harder and fed them pounds and pounds of sugar water in the fall to help them get settled and it worked. They made it through the winter intact and were even able to produce surplus honey for our consumption. And let me tell you how good that honey tasted freshly extracted from the cones it was spec

Week 20 Wedding

This week I photographed Deonne and Fred's wedding. It was a nice small informal wedding and was loads of fun. Unfortunately the ceremony was right around midday and the sun was shinning brightly from high in the sky. I managed to get by with heavy use of my flash and fill light. The ceremony was short and sweet and then I made some group photographs and everyone relaxed into socializing for the afternoon. I really like the group photograph I made above because I managed to get a good balance between my flash and and sunny background and the ugly hazy white sky was mostly removed from the photograph. There were some young children and they made for some great moments like the one below of the little girl looking up at Deonne through the flowers. It was also really neat because a pair of huge white Trumpeter Swans visited the nearby pond and I was able to get fairly close and photograph them. They are so HUGE standing on land they were almost as tall as me.
