This week I got to visit my extended family, on my dads side. The entire family except mine lives in the same town so whenever we visit it it a family reunion. David of course got everybody together to go play tennis. Not knowing tennis very well myself I mostly photographed it but even that was challenging because I wasn't very good at predicting where people would be so I could be ready for the shot. I did manage to get a few nice ones though this one being my favorite, David looks like he is working so hard hehe. Earlier in the week back in Missouri I photographed at the dog park and got this neat one of some dogs roughhousing. I like how the dust surounds them creating haze and adding to the sense of motion and activity. I also finally made it out to the coal plant in town to make some photographs like I have been meaning to do for awhile. The totally blue sky was a little bit hazy but the timeing was good right before sunset.
For the year 2012 I am doing a project where every week I take on self assignment. The idea is to practice and improve my photography skills by having an image in my mind and then trying to make a photograph of that, or in a more documentary style trying to tell a story about something. I predict that the true evolution of this project will make itself clear in time but the main idea is to constantly be exploring my photography.
